Three reasons why you don’t see optimal results with abs

The deep muscles are not activated

Even if you try to activate the deep muscles by “pulling the belly button towards the spine”, the muscles often simply don’t react when you start moving. Getting the deep muscles to activate during functional exercises takes completely different type of training.

Just doing different types of crunches and changing direction won’t be enough

If you want your abdominal area to work, you have to do functional training. Of course, this means exercises in many different directions, but also many different combinations and especially a progressive programme. Part 1 test and activate

The training sessions during the activation week will reprogram the muscles in your core to work in an optimal way. The deep muscles must react to the “commands” and activate before the surface muscles. 

Only this way all the other muscles can function and you can get a flat stomach and strong core. You will also get a series of exercises for mobility and back training that you can combine with your normal training program to guarantee the best results.

Part 2 Six week program

Every week you will receive a new training series. In addition to activating the deep muscles, the exercises will always target the oblique muscles as well as the straight abdominal muscles from different “angles”. The core is integrated to support the movements of the whole body since the arms and legs are included in the exercises.

During four weeks you will get new exercises every week, so that your muscles don’t get used to any one direction of movement and you keep seeing progress!

During weeks 5 and 6 we raise the intensity levels a bit by mixing the exercises learned during weeks 1-4 into new sets of movements. 

Part 3 Integration and Bonus sets

Who is Jukka Harju?

Jukka Harju is a forerunner in new type of functional training, active recovery and body optimising.

In just the past year, Jukka has provided advanced training to over 1000 professionals, for example, to physiotherapists at Helsinki University Hospital, Kankaanpää rehabilitation centre, Pori Lääkäritalo medical centre, Ruissalo rehabilitation centre and SATAEdu.

He works as a consultant to professional athletes like Nooralotta Neziri and Patrik Laine. Jukka has been part of training at, for example, Elixir, and has trained staff at well known Finnish gyms like Elixia and Fressi.
